Though God has begun to build the New Jerusalem, it pleases Him to bring us through a season wherein we will still suffer various trials and tribulations. But thank God we do not have to face them the way the world may. We do not need to be unsettled, fearful, apprehensive, pretentious, dissatisfied, disgruntled, whiny or grouchy. The book of Lamentation, as its name suggests, is a lamentation. The prophet Jeremiah wrote it in the aftermath of the devastation of Jerusalem by the Babylonians in 586 BC. It is a very sad book. If you can read it without feeling anything, you are probably not reading it with understanding. This is probably not a book that many of us will turn to when we feel discouraged. But in the midst of it is one of the most beautiful and comforting verses in the bible.
The LORD is against them that do evil and will cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. But He is a merciful God. He will hear the cries of all who come to Him in contrition and broken-heartedness.
The Lord Jesus was tempted in all points like are we are. He felt the desperation and fears we feel, but he was able to continue to the cross with confidence.
Dearly beloved sheep of Christ, if you have Christ as your Shepherd and hear His voice and follow Him closely, all is well. You can sing Psalm 23 with genuine affection and confidence in your heart.

The great end or goal of all of life and existence is the glory of God. God created everyone and everything in this universe for His own glory. In this final article on the solas of the Reformation, we will consider the motto Soli Deo Gloria (glory to God alone) in two areas, namely, salvation and worship.
We have been rescued from the greatest possible evil and we have been blessed with the greatest possible good. What more can we ask for? Surely, the least we can do is to be grateful to Him and to be filled with amazement at what He has done for us!
